About Our Parish

The first Carmelite parish in the United States in the First City in Kansas: St. Joseph Church. The first Cathedral west of the Mississippi, founded by Jesuit Bishop Jean Baptist Miege: The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  Grown from the hearty stock of German and Irish immigrants to the United States in the mid-1800's, Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Churches have continued to grow and deepen their roots in the Kansas soil.
